Birka Historical Tattoo Fest

Viking Market – Workshops – Music – Tattoo Event at Birka
May 29 – June 1, 2025

Welcome to the third edition of Birka Historical Tattoo Fest, May 29 – June 1, 2025!

During the event, we will host a Viking market where you can purchase replicas and historical handicrafts, meet Vikings, experience a blot, have your runes read, try archery, and enjoy historical folk music by @dajogniaband, @folketbortafor, and @krive_band.

There is also a unique opportunity to participate in one of the many workshops held at Birka Historical Tattoo Fest. Would you like to learn blacksmithing, plant dyeing, posament braiding, making chainmail, or crafting your own drum? Do you want to find your inner self through ARPI, learn more about magical plants, or walk on glowing embers? The selection is vast, and you sign up directly with the instructor.

Here, you will also meet world-class artists from the historical, Nordic, Celtic, Baltic, and ornamental tattoo scenes, working with various historical and electric techniques. If you plan to get a tattoo and want to book a session, contact your chosen tattoo artist directly. If there is availability, there may be drop-in appointments. Even if you’re not getting a tattoo, you are welcome to admire the artists’ exhibitions and maybe bring a piece of art home.

Presentations of each individual tattoo artist, workshops, entertainment, and activities will be announced on @birkahistoricaltattoofest on Instagram and Facebook. Follow us!
